A very subjective list of our top things to do in Plett and the area (in no particular order).

  1. An early morning hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve (5 km route)
  2. A morning at the beach (Central beach or one of the quieter beaches). Take in a casual lunch at Moby’s or one of the many other good restaurants in Plett. Buffels Bay beach (just past Knysna) is a great alternative
  3. An early dinner at Enrico’s restaurant in Keurbooms (a very early dinner helps secure a table)
  4. Visit Ice Dreamland for delicious homemade ice cream, Italian food or a coffee
  5. Kayak and Lilo adventure up the Storms River Gorge. The less adventurous can walk on the suspension bridge over the Storms River Mouth and take in the views.
  6. Lunch and wine tasting in the Craggs (our favourite is Newstead wine farm but others include Bramon, Kay and Monty and Lodestone)
  7. Visit Knysna to see the Knysna heads (from the viewpoint on the Eastern head) and have  lunch at 34 South (int he Knysna waterfront). Or late afternoon head out to Brenton on Sea for amazing sunset views
  8. A visit the Harkerville market on Saturday mornings is a must, or visit the old Nick’s village market on Wednesday mornings.
  9. Drive out to Natures valley, spending some time on the beach, swimming or walking. Visit the Natures valley farm stall on the way back
  10. Go for a walk in the Garden of Eden in Wilgers (half way to Knysna). A short (+- 1 km) walk through beautiful natural forest
  11. Take a trip up the Keurboom’s river. Options include canoes and paddleboats (hire at Aventura resort), or hire a small boat (at the Plett Angling club) or a ferry.
  12. Visit a few of the many farm stalls in the area (e.g, the Heath, the Potter, Thyme an Again)
  13. Horse riding at BoschRivier or Garden Route horse trails (near Wilderness)
  14. Site seeing in Storms River (Blaauwkrans bridge (bungy jumping) and the big tree)
  15. Explore west (visit Sedgefield and Wilderness). Victoria Bay just outside George is a must if in George
